SCULPTURES THAT LOST THE SENSE OF TIME (6 min)

Luigi Pane | Director | Italy | 2015 | Experimental | World Premiere

A playful exploration that reveals impossible paradoxes in the creation of art. For an artist, what is his own art…to what extent can he become one with his work? Does the work develop a life of its own, with its own soul, wanting to be part of the artistic process? And as its creativity fuels the process, it also slowly consumes itself, just as humans expend to eventually become a pile of dust. What if the artist, witnessing this phenomenon, would then want to repossess his artwork and make it part of himself again?

FLYING PAPER (82 min)

Nitin Sawhney & Roger Hill | Directors | USA/Palestine | 2014 | Documentary

An uplifting story of resilient Palestinian youth in the Gaza Strip on a quest to shatter the Guinness World Record for the most kites ever flown. Since summer 2010, the directors began working with a great team of Palestinian youth, trained through our Voices Beyond Walls Youth Media Program to cinematically capture the culture of kite making and flying kites among youth.
